5 Internet Marketing Tactics Used By The Big Boys

Internet marketing is the process of generating income via the internet. If you have a small online business you may think that the internet marketing world is dominated by the 'big boy' businesses who spend hundreds and thousands on marketing.
How can you compete with that? Well, in monetary terms you probably can't. But the you can use the same internet marketing tactics that they use which actually cost no money at all.
1. Keep To One Brand
Don't attempt to be somebody different online than you are offline. Don't recreate your brand on your website and for every social media site. Keep the same brand image and only modify it for each platform features. Maintain the same colours, values, and ideals across all your communication options. Your customers need to know who you are, regardless of where or how they connect with you.

2. Check Out Your Competitors
Do you think that big businesses don't take any notice of their competitors? You don't want to copy your competitors, but keeping an eye on them will help you stay one step ahead. Take note of what type of products and services your competition offers and be prepared to do them one better.
3. Have A Goal
Each time a big business starts a new campaign online, they will have a clear objective. What are the goals for your internet marketing plans? Do you want to improve sales conversion rates, get extra traffic, enhance your reputation, develop your brand etc? Think of your goals being SMART. That means they are specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and time specific.
4. Concentrate On Benefits More Than Features
It's easier to talk about all the features of your product or service rather than the benefits. Think about what your product or service actually does for your customer. All your internet marketing messages, even on your "about us" page, need to be focused on your customer and how your products or services benefit them.

5. Provide Value
No matter what the size of your business, if you don't provide value you won't have any customers. You can't chuck anything onto your website, social media websites, email communications, etc and expect it to achieve your objectives. The more value that you deliver to your target audience, the more that they will come to know, like and trust you. They will then be more willing to buy from you.
Traffic is the lifeblood of an online business. If you don't have any visitors coming to your website, you'll have no prospective customers, no online presence and no sales. You can pay for traffic or you can get free. If you want more free traffic download my free checklist, The Free Website Traffic Guide at https://jonallo.com/freetrafficchecklist
